Before a gallery has a space, it has people.

induction gallery is pleased to present hot child in the city, a group exhibition of new and recent works by artists within and beyond the gallery’s program.

Structured as gathering, love letter, reflection, and forward momentum of what is to come, the exhibition brings together the community of artists whose work, conversations, and trust have built, and continue to build, the gallery’s program into what it is today.

Through painting, sculpture, neons, photography, ceramics, textiles, works on paper, and installation, hot child in the city celebrates the breadth of practices and vibrancy found within the gallery’s artistic community. Featuring work by more than twenty artists, including Luis Miguel Anaya, Levon Riggins, Marcel Alcalá, Celeste Voce, Steven Erazo, Jacob Barri, Vita Kari, Stacey-Calle, Lena Daly, Vivien Ebright Chung, Ellen Jong, Kendalle Getty, Emma Kearney, Samantha Greenfeld, Ari Salka, Kelly Lamb, Jake Ziemann, John Brooks, Kara Joslyn, and Sarah Rose Niemiec, the exhibition takes its energy from the artists themselves: collectively building together, evolving over time, showing up, committing to the work, supporting one another, and returning. Their presence gives the gallery its momentum, and this presentation recognizes it. It is a tribute to what they have built so far, and an invitation to carry that energy into what comes next.
